Accessibility
Federal Index aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on this website. This statement describes how the site is built and tested, and how to tell us about a barrier.
How the site is built
- Every color pair is solved for contrast before the palette is published, and every status is shown with a word as well as a color.
- Pages use one main heading, ordered headings, labelled forms, table headers with scope, and a skip link to the main content.
- Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring that is not hidden under the sticky header.
- Motion is limited, and it stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages reflow on small screens and at high zoom without horizontal scrolling of the page.
How it is tested
Each public page is checked with automated accessibility tests at desktop and phone widths, including reflow at phone width, and its keyboard order and focus are checked. The most recent check was on . Zoom testing on real devices, screen-reader testing, and testing with people who use assistive technology are planned and not yet completed, so this statement makes no claim of conformance.
Known limitations
- The industries list on the homepage scrolls sideways within its own box on narrow screens; the arrow buttons and the keyboard both move it.
- Linked government documents, including PDFs on government sites, are outside Federal Index’s control.
